COMPLETE! Peony in aubergine wool pics

I couldn't add pictures to my original post on this dress, when I was still having trouble with the fit of this dress, but here they are now, to reassure you I did eventually finish it. I have worn it out to dinner to a local tapas restaurant, and one day to work. I loved wearing it the colour is great but not done any justice in these pics. I really should start taking photos outside in the daylight but that is in very short supply here in London at the moment!

COMPLETE! Colette Peony #2 roses

PATTERN: Colette Peony

FABRIC: black and pink roses £8 per metre, Syed Fabrics, Walthamstow market

TIME: 5 hours

I LEARNT:
Sew with the fabric suggested on the envelope-a thin peony is much easier than a thick felty woolly one!
Sleeves 3/4 length
Pockets!
My first independent neck facing
Sewing in my new labels!
A far better invisible zip

ISSUES
Had to do more slashing off the back when I fitted the zip so it wasn't too baggy
But I love it!

My first home made dress worm out to work- got a compliment on it by 9am!
